Moscow develops contactless bank card payment opportunities on land transport

The main land transport operator of the Russian capital, “Mosgortrans”, develops new payment opportunities and introduces PayPass and PayWave technologies, as well as Android Pay, Apple Pay or Samsung Pay, for the comfort of passengers. Buses and trams are being equipped with new types of validators. This year, more than 2 000 vehicles will be equipped with new readers. The service will be convenient for tourists and visitors of the city.

For the first time such a service was launched in Moscow in November 2017. The fare for contactless payment is cheaper than when buying a ticket from the driver - it is 40 rubles. Stickers in the cabin and icons of payment systems on validators indicate if a bus or a tram has facilities for contactless payment.

Together with this, passengers of Moscow public transport enjoy a convenient tariff menu. Any ticket can be recorded on the transport card "Troika", which is the most convenient way to pay for travelling on public transport in the capital of Russia.
